Michael Kanellos
Michael Kanellos is the Editor in Chief at Greentech Media, where he covers emerging technologies and companies in the green world. Prior to joining the company in 2008, he worked for CNET Network’s News.com for eleven years. Among other jobs at CNET, he launched the company’s push into clean technology. He has appeared on NPR, CBS, CNBC, Fox News and other media outlets and has spoken at CES, the Japan Business Strategy Summit, Ceatec, the Irish Software Association, Stanford, U.C. Berkeley, the Flash Memory Summit and Clean Energy Venture Summit. A graduate of Cornell University and the University of California (Hastings), he has worked as an attorney, a travel writer and a busboy at a pancake house.
Sean Harrington
Seam Harrington is the Director for Client Solutions at Opower, where he’s responsible for company’s activity, implantation and growth in the Silicon Valley. Sean has been leading high-performance teams, working with customers and partners for over 8 years. Prior to joining Opower, Sean was in charge of the global development for Better Place, an electrical vehicle services provider, accelerating the transition to sustainable transportation. He was notably managing collaborations with international and domestic markets, at political and corporate level. Sean has also held several positions from case writer for the Stanford Graduate School of Business to managing director and founder of Trek Travel, a tourism company and a community fostering green values all around the world. Sean has an MBA from Stanford University.
Michael Meehan
Michael Meehan is Carbonetworks' President & CEO and is responsible for the company's operational and strategic direction. As one of the company founders he created the Carbonetworks concept and was originally the primary architect of the network. Michael's professional history spans 14 years in software, including senior roles in product management, marketing and technology development. Prior to joining Carbonetworks Michael held senior positions in systems management and software service vendors, and also founded the Climate Resource, an online climate change information provider. Nominated as 2009 E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year, Michael is a guest columnist for Point Carbon’s Trading Carbon Magazine, Greener Computing, ClimateBiz, and CleanTechnical. Michael has an undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies and an MBA.
Cary Vandenberg
Cary has over twenty years of executive experience within the enterprise software, semiconductor, and renewable energy industries, including marketing & sales, operations, and CEO roles. He has extensive knowledge of enterprise scale data acquisition and analysis systems, including tenure as CEO of HPL Technologies, a public software company focused on data integration and yield optimization for the semiconductor industry. HPL had unique expertise in collecting massive amounts of data and reducing it to actionable information through a variety of algorithms and pattern recognition techniques. Since selling HPL to Synopsys, Cary’s primary focus has been on working with early stage, clean energy technology enterprises. Earlier in his career, Cary was in leadership positions in enterprise software and supply chain automation companies and has substantial international capabilities, as well as experience in growing companies from the start-up stage to IPO.
John Steinberg
Prior to founding EcoFactor, John was Director of Corporate Business Development for Electronics for Imaging, where he had a leadership role in $500M in transactions. He was also founder and President of Bebop Incorporated, and co-founded Involved Professionals Against Cancer. John has been issued 12 US patents for inventions in such diverse fields as digital photography, networked printing, and various mechanical devices. He has served on the Board of Directors of Long Beach Youth Centers and the Board of Advisors of the Tech Coast Venture Network. John has been a featured speaker at multiple cleantech industry events, including the Behavior Energy and Climate Change Conference. John is a graduate of Stanford Law School, where he was an Associate Editor of the Stanford Law Review. He received his undergraduate degree (with honors) from Oberlin College, where he majored in Economics and Government, and was Phi Beta Kappa.
Jose Iglesias
Prior to working for Symantec, Jose held several top executive positions at Veritas or IBM Corp., as VP of Product Management and Engineering. He is now the VP of Global Solution for Symantec and an eminent expert of Green IT issues. Jose Iglesias is a graduate from Stanford University.
